Why should I hire a videographer when I already have a photographer?

There are so many details that are missed in photographs that a wedding film will capture!  From vows to speeches, video captures what photos cannot.  You will enjoy the benefit of experiencing your first kiss and first dance as a married couple time and time again in the years to come!

Should I still have a photographer if I have video?

We recommend having a photographer as well.  Just as videography is unique in itself, photography has a special quality that will add to the memories of your day!

What is your background
in videography?

Trained in Hollywood film production in Vancouver, British Columbia, my training is second to none. Our experience includes every kind of wedding. From small indoor weddings, large cathedral weddings to outdoor weddings, we've filmed them all. From our cinematography, to sound-design, to editing, our film-making background is reflected in each and every one of our wedding films.

Unfortunately, with the low-cost of consumer video cameras and free software anyone can make movies, which means there is an ever increasing number of untrained "film-makers" competing for your most precious moments. But just as you would never trust just anyone to be the photographer, you shouldn't trust just anyone to be the videographer.

What kind of equipment do you use to assure great quality?

The most important piece of equipment is by far the video camera. For all multi-camera shoots we use identical, professional-grade, all-digital Sony camcorders. These cameras give us the ability to capture stunning images with incredible detail, even in low-light situations, enabling us to film even the dimly-lit dances without the need for obtrusive lighting equipment.

Sound is so often overlooked, but not by us. We always use wireless lavaliere (small clip-on) microphones on each the officiant and the groom during the ceremony. And we always bring backup equipment in the unlikely event any of our main equipment malfunctions.

Do you visit the ceremony site before the wedding?

We always make our best effort to attend the rehearsal at the wedding site. This ensures our understanding of how the wedding will unfold and gives us a heads-up on any possible obstacles (lighting, sound, etc) to be overcome.

When will I receive the final product?

On average each wedding video takes about 8-12 weeks.  Some videographers deliver more quickly while others more slowly. For us this timeline ensures that your DVD gets our undivided attention.

What is the payment policy?

Payments are made in three parts. A 40% down payment is due at signing of the contract and guarantees the wedding date.  The second payment of 50% is due seven days prior to wedding date.  The final payment of 10% is due at delivery of the final product.

Will we meet the videographer who will be filming the day?

Absolutely. Because we never double-book weddings, I am personally always on site as the main videographer for every wedding.  We have two additional videographers who may work beside me, both of whom are experienced and are familiar with the equipment we are using.

Do I approve the final copy?

We spend weeks in editing to give you the best final product. We guarantee all controllable technical aspects of the DVD, and our final DVD is professional and artistic. However, the artistic style is up to our judgment. Our customers choose us for our style, and we promise to accomplish this for every DVD.   Our customer satisfaction is extremely crucial to our success, and we will do as much as we can to make you happy.

Are you distracting when filming?

We have seen too many photographers and videographers who have shown up in poor attire or have been very distracting to guests.  We take great pride in the weddings we film and consider it an honor to be entrusted with some of the happiest moments of your life. Our unobtrusive videography will not distract you or your guests, and we always require our videographers to wear fitting attire.

We are always aware of our surroundings and make it a point to stay out of the way of you and your guests. We never use distracting lights and always use minimal yet adequate equipment for the job.

We always get along with the photographer so that we both can get the best for you!
